La letra es microscopica. It certainly wasn’t for me. I am not sure how much would be lost in translation if this novel is read in English, but in Spanish this is one of the best novels written in South America.

The language was beautiful! Short, but with an amazing narrative pace, the book tells us the story of Don Barbara, a cruel and vindictive woman who is know as the “cacica” chief of the Arauca, in the venezuelan “llanos”, due to her ferocity, unscrupulous nature, and her apparent supernatural voa.
