The author’s period and I received this as a present from my Parents in the early 70s and it remains a treasured item, easily the most entertaining chess book I have ever read. Many chess players are allergic to the genre, but the examples Chernev includes are all witty and bright.

I have owned the book for about 30 years now. Obviously dated but contains many classic games.

Nice, long collection of short-stories and games of various kinds. This is a nice collection of chess “stuff.
